I noticed a brief item out of the Hamburg Abenblatt today.
The CDU folks up in Hamburg made a suggestion to the school system there....requiring the German and EU flag to be flown and actively shown in classrooms.
The idea was that it would provide some identification with values around the EU community, Germany as a nation, and the Basic Law (the German Constitution).
The comment came from the chairman of the local deputy political party chief (Karin Prien).
The odds of this being accepted? My guess is that the teaching staff will be negative, and some political opposition will be found with various groups.
