Frankfurt Riot After Action?

The Frankfurt public prosecutor's office apparently now has 54 suspects on charges from this past weekend riot-action (in the shopping district).

Charges dangling?  Well...breach of the peace, aggravated assault, burglary, and attacks on police officers .

More folks to be detained, as video is reviewed?  Looks that way.

In the past....you might get arrested...charged-up, and maybe eight months would pass before your case came up.  It appears now that these folks are on a shortened schedule...probably to face a judge within 90 days.

Getting more than a year in jail?  It appears that the prosecutor is pushed to press hard.  If you were stupid and did some kind of aggravated assault or attack on police/ambulance crews/firemen....you might be in a serious case with up to 10 years of prison time.  State laws got more strict last year about attacks on medical personnel and firemen....treated at same level as policemen now.

Video playing a key role?  The judge will put a lot of weight on 'proof'.

Frankfurt looking for more tools for future riots?  Just by the statements made....there's likely to be another couple of hundred cameras set-up over the next year.

Poland: Since Yesterday

 1.  Last night....conference meeting....President Nawrocki and PM Tusk in the upper-level meeting.  Just viewing the initial moments (video)....Tusk was visibly bothered.

Meeting results?  Well....for weeks, vacancy situation for the National Bank, and RPP (Monetary Policy Council).  President had passed names down for Tusk to sign off....delay after delay.  Right off the bat with this meeting....Tusk signs the names to openings.  No problem?  Well....that's the message.

The funding for US basing/construction?  No problem....Tusk readily agrees.

Threat from Russia chatter?  Tusk highlights the threat....something he would not have uttered a month ago.

One gets the impression that no charges will occur and Tusk can remain as PM.....even if he is severely weakened.

2.  Just odd.

Yesterday.....seven European passenger flights from Ryanair, Wizz Air, LOT Polish Airlines, and SAS were targeted by bomb threats across Poland, Spain, Italy, and Bulgaria.

Culprit?  Unknown.

3.  Martial law chatter?  After this meeting between Tusk and Nawrocki last night....that seems to have dissolved away.  The suggestion is that civil conflict would erupt if Tusk were charged.

Odd Germany-Poland History

Nazi-boss Adolph Hitler.....justified invading Poland in 1939....by claiming ethnic Germans were being persecuted.

Using old territory grumblings....German territory had also been unfairly taken.

Hitler framed an invasion of conquest as an act of self-defense.

Yeah....it as a 4-star fabrication....to correct the 'wrongs'.

And yes, it does resemble the Putin-Nazis-Ukraine stuff a bit.

Poland: What Likely Happens To Tusk (PM)?

 Basically three routes:

1.  You detain the guy and charge him with some federal crime.

2.  You convince him to run-off and exit Poland.

3.  You hold off on charges....threatening charges any minute, and publicly talk about his 'crimes'....but never arresting him.  Let him serve as a problem for his political party.  This convinces the party to have a no-confidence vote...dumping him.

Chief problem....there's probably 10,000 folks within the gov't who owe something to Tusk and his party.  They are probably worried over where things are going, and hyped-up to exit the country.

EU?  There's probably 500-odd folks meeting at bars/night-clubs in Brussels....discussing things.  This discussion of a coup?  Well...they don't want this to be focused upon by non-Poles.

BBC or ARD (German public TV)?  Thirty seconds max tonight....without uttering 'coup'.  Probably some effort to say Putin's FSB somewhere in the middle of this crap.

You just wonder....who convinced Tusk....the coup-route was going to work?

Poland Martial Law?

From about 3 news sources within Poland....there's talk of some type of martial law to be declared by the President....at midnight.

To what degree?  Yet to be established.

Just a humble guess....probably a curfew of some type, and crowd-gatherings are forbidden for a week, or two.

Just to emphasize the point....it's the President who is directing this.....NOT the PM.

Last EU state to ever declare martial law?  Poland, December 1981.  It lasted for roughly 18 months....summer, 1983. If you remember the Solidarity Movement.....this was the gov't tool to put them down.

Before that?  France’s constitutional état de siège (the closest event) occurred in 1958.

How public German TV (ARD or ZDF) avoid discussing it?  Unknown.

Warsaw Rather Odd Development

This AM (Tuesday)....the buildings of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MSZ) and the Chancellery of the Prime Minister (KPRM) were urgently evacuated.  I should note here....in relation to each other, they are about 2 minutes walking from each other.

Other odd thing....noted by a couple of poles....in the nearby area...LRAD mounted on the back of a police-truck.

LRAD?  It's a Long Range Acoustic Device (also called an acoustic hailing device or “sound cannon”). It is a specialized, high-powered, highly directional loudspeaker system designed to broadcast clear voice messages or warning tones over long distances.

Usually....it serves two purposes.  The friendly use?  It serves as a ultra-high speaker.  Even from three blocks away....you probably hear a clear message.

The less than friendly use?  The police can turn on a ultra-high tone, and it disorientates you....forcing you to leave the area.

Upon whose orders to deploy it?  Unknown.  Against pro-Tusk folks, or pro-Nawrocki folks?  Unknown.

Italian Speed/Fines?

Italy is discussing a new law....minimum speed limits on motorways/autobahns....of 100 km per hour.  Suggested fine?  160 euro.

I've only been a driver on Italian roads on three occasions....so I can't speak to this....as being a problem.

German minimum speeds?  It's fairly rare, but I'd admit....I've seen dozens of occasions where some German-plated car was moving along at 50 km per hour....folks were passing at 100 to 200 km per hour.

Polish Poll?

There was a poll done....26/27 Oct....before the coup started up...asking....do you think that Donald Tusk's coalition will stay in power after the 2027 parliamentary election (fall 2027)?

Thousand-odd folks.

Forty-seven percent said NO.  Thirty-percent said YES.  Twenty-three percent were undecided.

The twenty-three percent?  They sound like zero-committed to Tusk, and waiting for some action,

I have the thought that this poll result might have been known (already) by Tusk and associates, and it scared the crap out of them....resulting in the idea....the coup would fix this issue (one way or another).

The one odd comment I read from a Pole, which stood out....he/she asked....what is it in a remarkable way that the Tusk-coalition has done in the past two years to really pull in support (from all Poles)?  They couldn't think of a result....hoping that others might post a comment 'positive' in nature.

I'll just make this comment, from an American prospective....that you (as a party/coalition) need a agenda that the majority of people support/desire, and you need to show some progress.  If you lounge around with a majority for two or three years...never getting anything done, but whine a lot....your odds of winning are near zero in the next election.

If you asked over the odds of a Tusk-collapse occurring now....triggering a new election (with no prosecution over the coup as part of the deal).....I'd say the odds are in the 60-percent range presently.

If Poland's PM (Tusk) Had To Leave

It's a silly suggestion.  I noted several folks on Twitter this AM (Poles) who began to ask...if he (Tusk) had to leave....where to?

The answer in 99-percent of commentary...Brussels (Belgium).  The topic ends up being some funny statement that the EU would have to direct Belgium to accept him....while Poland works up prosecution-paperwork....which Belgium likely responds 'hell-no'.

I paused over this BS chatter.  The problem is....the hundred-odd people who are connected to the PM or his personal staff....they would also be in some prosecution paperwork, and in a fragile mindset....might ask....can we go to Belgium as well?

In the end, as these public-square chats go on....you could have 10,000 Poles in a disturbing mindset....that they picked the wrong agenda to sign up for, and staying in Poland is possibly not an option.  Belgium accepting the whole crowd?  I doubt it.  So the question is....does Germany, Spain, Italy and France step up, and do the right thing in opening up a 'status'?

Oddly, a week ago....no one had such thoughts.

Four Observations Over Poland (since yesterday)

 1.   President of Poland gave a 'talk' this AM....looking over the text.

He stated that the problem that Poland is facing is no longer merely a political dispute but a systemic and fundamental crisis.

He then suggested that the political conflict has gone to some extent to tearing families apart, destroying communities and threatening the very foundations of the Polish state.

Then there's a sentence or two....that EU law...comes second to Polish law.

2.  It has come out....that the President and VP signed a document....probably going back 6 months, that if either were 'removed'....that the paper granted the 'head' of the Polish Supreme Court as the authority replacing them.  It doesn't appear that anyone from the Tusk side was aware of the paperwork.

Legal?  So far....the Constitution allows for such transfer of power.

This leads one to wonder....did they already know of coup plans back in the spring of 2026?

3.  It just makes you wonder....who guided Tusk and 'associates' to this coup idea?

I doubt that this invented via the EU.  Putin-folks?   CIA-folks?

4.  Last night....the Tusk-inserted new 'chief' of the Polish Supreme court....Korwin-Piotrowska....gave a interview with some prime-time TV moderator.

She noted as the President entered the building....getting past the police barricade: "The President intended to trample us. I made a hand gesture to greet him, and Mr. President charged at me with his entire body, started pushing us away, using brutal force."

I might agree with the description....she's a light-weight (maybe 110 pounds).  But the rest of the story....she didn't greet him down with the police group.

These TV interviews that she's given....aren't exactly helping to sell the 'brand' or message.

3 Nov 2026: Germany/Europe: 4 Stories

 1.  Study done on German social pension contributions by 2035....probably going up 51-percent.  For an upper-class technician German....figure in the 2,000 to 3,000 Euro a year extra.

Probably will be a fair amount of hostility over the increase.

2.  Two housing companies in Berlin entered into a deal with the city....building x-amount of housing....to be dedicated to lower-income families.  Well....they failed to deliver....case went to court.

Court agreed....damages in the 1.8-million Euro range.

3  Charges filed against 3 individuals....attempting to damage the Chancellor's private plane.  Journalists identify the three....as environmentalists.  Court reviewing the charges.  Could be some jail-time.

4.  Some fear starting up....Christmas markets open in 3 weeks.  Fear centers on drone-attacks being possible. There was already fear of car-attacks on the markets, and weapon-attacks.

Seven Observations Over Poland (Since Yesterday)

1 For a typical average Pole....it's confusing.  If you were a pro-Tusk gal/guy....you get your news via a pro-Tusk source....which means no one utters 'coup'.  If you were a pro-Nawracki guy/gal....you get your news via a pro-Nawrocki source, which means 'coup' gets uttered in every 4th sentence.  If you got you news via the BBC or ARD (German public TV)....you get about 30 seconds of 'something'....which might discuss a right-wing conspiracy (against Tusk).

Oddly, a lot of commentary/video exists on Twitter/X, triggering folks to ask stupid questions.

2.  President Nawrocki this AM....suggesting that the Tusk-crew are resorting to blackmail?  Yeah....he suggested it.

3.  Police resorting to a question-template....when given questionable orders....are asking police-leadership for a paper-copy of the order (signed).  Bad sign on trust.

4.  Just about everything in the crisis/chaos....revolves around the Constitution....what it says, and what it doesn't say.

It might be correct to say....it does NOT benefit Tusk, but he doesn't have the votes to change or update the Constitution.

Oddly, the EU is trying to suggest guidelines or changes....but it lacks a Constitution entirely and has little power to push anything.

5.  This suggestion that the fall 2027 Poland parliamentary election might be cancelled?  BS.

Power to cancel it....can only come from the President....NOT Tusk.

Tusk could stage a no-confidence vote and have an early-election....but at this point....it doesn't benefit him or his party.

Tusk supreme court inventing a law out of thin-air....to remove Nawrocki as President?   This is probably the only angle to suggest....but you'd invite massive crowds/chaos, and trigger questions around the EU about the 'trigger'.

6.  Some crazy folks are suggesting a counter-coup....to the coup, with other folks suggesting a counter-counter-coup...while others are suggesting a counter-counter-counter-coup.

7.  In viewing the chaos....you have to wonder what Putin is motivated to do at this point.  Should he bring down the Nawrocki gov't or the Tusk-coalition?  Should he bring both down?  Should he do nothing?

Five Things I Expect To Occur In Germany By 2035

 1.  I expect the sugar tax going onto sodas....to be extended to foods/candies/sweets.  At some point, I expect a push for just a plain sugar tax on bulk sugar by itself.

2.  I expect a E-scooter regulation to be mandated....with a age requirement (likely to be 16 or above).

3.  I expect a age mandate to be established for all streaming-video networks offered in Germany (best guess, age 16 minimum).

4.  I expect the national voting age to be lowered to age 16.

5.  I expect the AfD Party (unsuccessfully) to push for a IQ test on incoming migrants, and a minimum score to get 'status'.  Part of the negativity of this...will circle back to 10-percent of Germans not meeting the minimum.

Looking Ahead At The 20th

From Saturday evening's looting/'bad-boy' behavior.....there's a fair amount of hostility brewing around Frankfurt.  This AM....there's a discussion to start up from Frankfurt-City level, and Hessen-state level...to ban the next demonstration date (20 Nov).

There is such a thing in Germany as the right to assemble/protest.....however, you have to establish your location/walk with the police and basically get their permission.  In most cases that I've noted...police rarely turn down a protest march....but they may require it to be along a certain route (mostly over safety concerns)

What likely comes out of the talk?  I would imagine a protest will be allowed on the 20th by the Gen-Z crowd....with a time limit of x-number of hours (probably shutting down by 5 PM).  There's likely a police-order existing after 5 PM....if you gather and misbehave....you end up detained and cited.

Gen-Z folks being 'used' by the pro-break-in folks?  Well....there are two groups in the mix.

On the legal side?   There is such a thing as Breach of the Peace (Landfriedensbruch, § 125 StGB), which basically says participating in violent crowds or riots that endanger public safety could carry the  penalties of a fine,  or up to 3 years in prison (or 6 months to 10 years in aggravated cases).

So you could be viewed by forty different cameras....caught throwing a rock at a policeman....get detained and dragged into a court....facing a year in prison very easily.  That's just for throwing a rock and missing the cop.  Actually hitting him?  You could end up with five to ten years.

EU Rights? Yes, or No

I noted in social commentary today....the question came up...does the EU have a constitution?

I spent around 30 minutes reading over this, and the 'answer'.

NO, there is NO EU constitution.

There was an attempt around 2004/2005...basically, the idea was...the EU would draft up one, and each 'state' would vote to accept it.

Right off the bat...vote came in France and Netherlands....both failing.  Summer of 2005....the whole idea got dumped, and has never come up again.

I sat last night....some interview with a EU representative...trying to talk over Poland and saying that the EU requires certain procedures/processes with a EU member's Supreme Court.  It stuck out in my mind today...wondering...where such EU power exists.  Well...there is no such expectation or 'power'.

What rights you, or your company, or your dog have.....is based strictly off your home-country.  If you hauled off to Greece or Ireland....you basically get a 'free' way to rights of that country.

The one impression I get...a lot of journalists since Saturday....seem to be hyped-up over the EU and talking rights....but it's basically BS.

German Police Penion While Injured On Duty?

I looked it up today....roughly in the range of 2,000 to 3,500 Euro a month...for a Stadtpolizist (city/municipal or state police officer) who is a Beamter, injured on duty (Dienstunfall), and forced into medical retirement (Dienstunfähigkeit) due to it.

Exact level?  Depends on rank, stage (Stufe), years of service, age, family status, the specific Bundesland (rules and pay tables differ), and how the accident is classified (by a police board exam).

Years ago, in my military years....I worked with a American guy who spent 2 years building his case for a medical-retirement. It's not a easy path.

So in these riots....as you get injuried....in each case, the guy/gal is taken to a hospital, and documents are collected.  Maybe one riot....maybe five or six riots....but eventually, you present your case for early retirement.

'Smoke' Clears Over Frankfurt Riot Action

As of noon today....police reports indicate: roughly 100 police injured/wounded...54 individuals arrested and released for a court appearance later, and five shops down-town looted.

On total criminal charges at this point?  87.

Roughly 350-odd folks were stopped and forced to ID themselves.

What the local cops say?  Two groups exist.....one being students who didn't destroy anything, and the other around the Zeil shopping district...mostly described as mob-like.  Were the mob-players mostly non-German?  Well...yeah, police did bring up this description (public TV uttered it as well).

Police looking at video?  Yeah....that got brought up....analyzing minute-by-minute and continuing a ID effort.  It's possible via the 350 folks ID'ed....and video....another fifty-odd folks will be notified to come in for a judge-session and possible fine/jail-time.

The Zeil district with a lot of cameras?  I've walked the district on a number of occasions.....I bet there's at least a hundred cameras there, and there's probably over 3,000 hours of coverage.  If you did anything of a stupid nature....caught on video, and they forced you to ID 3 or 4 hours prior....there's a high probability of court action on your calendar.  Add onto the cameras....the Romer area about 3 minutes walking....there's probably forty-odd cameras there.  The subway areas (I can think of five platforms in the area)....where you might be observed.

Some advice....if you gather for a demonstration/riot in the early part of the 'show'....then the cops approach you for a ID check....it's best to leave then for home and not be stupid.

How Are Polish Supreme Court Justices Put Into Office

Back 1997....as the national Constitution was drafted and finalized....Article 179 was inserted.  It says....that judges are appointed for an indefinite period by the President (NOT the PM) on the motion of the National Council of the Judiciary.

The chief Justice?  Well...the 'First President of the Supreme Court' is appointed by the President for a 6-year term....from a list of five names....proposed by the General Assembly of Judges of the Supreme Court.

Requirements to be on the court?  Normal stuff....citizenship, legal qualifications, experience, high character.

This idea that the PM can appoint?  It would only happen if the Constitution were changed (yet to be openly discussed).

Article 235 covers changing of the Constitution, and it requires three key features:

1 A bill proposed by at least one-fifth of Sejm deputies (or by the Senate or the President).

2.  Adoption by the Sejm with a two-thirds majority (in the presence of at least half the statutory number of deputies). With 460 seats in the mix....mean 307 have to support it. (in case you were wondering....PM Tusk does NOT have that number of votes).

3.  Then an absolute majority in the Senate. (oddly for PM Tusk, this is heavily in his favor....he holds around 60 seats of the 100).

The EU chatter about 'respect for the PM'?  The Constitution would need a re-write/change...for Tusk to have such 'respect'.

When the President hints that a whole new Judge staff might be accomplished?  He'll select the crew, and swear them in....not PM Tusk.

How Polling Looks For the Fall 2027 Poland Parliament Election?

Poll done in the past 2 weeks?

KO (Tusk's party) ahead in first place....33-percent.

His partners?  P-Z at 4.33 percent.  P-2050 at 2.65.  Lewica at 7.10.

President's party?  Second place, at 22.35 percent. Confederation at 12.25 percent. Development-Plus Party at 5.19 percent. Crown-Party at 7.84 percent. PSL at 3.5 percent.

If you asked about a drop after the coup business?  I'd suggest that a quarter of the four parties under Tusk....probably are NOT thrilled over what happened and might find a different voting trend.

For KO....figure a 3-to-5 point drop.

I hate to suggest it....but it's like some idiot talked the pro-coup BS into occurring, and never considered failure damaging the 2027 election results.

Leadership within KO?  Wouldn't shock me if by late December....they start pushing Tusk out, and getting a fresh new face for the election of 2027.

Eight Aspects of Coups

 1.  Historically-speaking....the majority of coup d'état efforts fail. You can analyze these to the 9th degree, and it's a wild mix....sometimes by poor planning....sometimes by poor leadership....sometimes by dumb luck.

2.  The first time coup d'état got noted?  Coup of 18 Brumaire on November 9–10, 1799....when Napoleon Bonaparte...backed by Emmanuel-Joseph Sieyès, overthrew the French Directory and established the French Consulate.

3.  Odd US plot that failed.  A group of ultra-wealthy...far-right (always those bastards) political conspirators allegedly plotted to overthrow President Franklin D. Roosevelt.  In their plan...it was to replace him with a fascist-style (but business-friendly) regime. The scheme collapsed after retired Marine Corps General Smedley Butler, whom the plotters approached to lead the coup, exposed the conspiracy to Congress.

4. Only successful US coup?  The Wilmington 1898 Coup d'État.  This occurred on 10 November 1898.

White supremacists (Klan guys) overthrew the biracial, locally elected government in Wilmington, North Carolina.

History notes that a couple of dozen black residents were executed.  The effort also destroyed a Black-owned newspaper, and forced elected officials to resign at gunpoint.

5.  Most noted German coup (failure).  The Palm Sunday Putsch (German: Palmsonntagsputsch) of 13 April 1919.

Basically...a Bavarian militia attempted (failed) to overthrow the week-old Bavarian Soviet Republic.

German historians usually say that the putsch/coup....failed due to the resistance of German communist fighters (WW I experience) who supported the communist Bavarian Soviet Republic.

About 2 to 3 weeks after this failed coup....the Bavarian Soviet Republic was overthrown in early May 1919....mostly by efforts military-wise....by forces of the Weimar Republic.

6. It is a statistical fact.....bloodless coups or low-violence coups...have a higher success rate.  But these are noted as such...mostly because of speed, surprise, and keeping communications under control.

7.  US-led coup in Iran....gives us the mess of today?

Back in 1953....there was a Iranian Coup (Operation Ajax).....led by MI6/CIA folks.

This effort was to kick out democratically elected Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh and restore the Shah (Mohammad Reza Pahlavi) to power.

You can make the statement....this only led to the 1979 Iranian Revolution....which confronts us today.

8.  The Tusk Coup?  On failure points....I'd say they should not have started the coup until the Polish President had landed in Africa, and ensured that his plane was broke.

The police used in surrounding the Supreme Court building?  A fair number had un-numbered helmets/riot jackets....which was odd.  So far the only explanation suggested is that they were police academy students....not full-up police members.

The order to issue out machine guns/ammo to the riot-police?  On paper, it exists....but oddly, there's zero evidence that some folks at the building had the guns or ammo.

Oddly, this judge who claims 'top-dog' status....has yet to make the statement....that she works for the PM (Tusk).  You are left to assume this.

The coup over?  Well...this 'top-dog' judge has ordered that a meeting Supreme Court judges will occur on Tuesday, and on the books....this meeting is still likely a part of the coup.  So I'd say....coup-wise, it's not really ended yet.

Ten Humble Thoughts

 1.  Related to Poland: Sometimes you need a coup, or revolution, or radical overthrow situation....to keep your prospective of democracy still existing.

2.  Riot action: Running into a riot-control water cannon on a plus-2 degree C day....probably improves your odds of getting pneumonia.

3.  Across America....if you came up with three or four new species of aliens existing....at least 10-million Americans would be hyped-up to sexually get it on, with the aliens.

4.  Once you start identifying everything of 'value' as a cartel.....suddenly....things seem to fit and make sense.

5.  If people were challenged to define a 'shit-hole'.....after an hour or two of thinking....they'd probably list forty cities, and at least five countries.

6.  After 20-plus years of living in a Oligarch-type landscape.....you don't even think of it in a negative way anymore.

7.  Somehow....social-democrats and democratic-socialists....are the same thing.

8.  It's possible that we wake up in ten years....to find that one-third of the voting public are willing to elect a AI-bot as city mayor....even if you tell the voter it's not a actual living human being.

9. If you make a 10-minute speech (recorded) and the finished product shows twenty-one 'edits' (cuts)....pretty good odds that it's a crappy unbelievable speech (probably requiring two hours of speaking)

10.  A SUCCESSFUL coup......opens many doors.  A UNSUCCESSFUL coup...usually leads to voters to asking some rather stilly questions.

My Favorite Coup Story

Mid-1960s....Algeria....Houari Boumédiène ousted Ahmed Ben Bella from power.

So....at the time in Algeria....some movie production crew was filming 'The Battle of Algiers'.

Movie theme?  Actual 1950s independence movement...fairly historical.

19 June 1965 comes up....army units under Defense Minister Colonel Houari Boumédiène arrested President Ahmed Ben Bella in a limited action (no deaths).

Tanks and troops moved through the capital with ease....with the public used to the movie being shot.

Most residents assumed the activity was just more movie production.

They all wake up on the 20th....rather shocked....coup completed, and the movie production continued on.

I always thought this was a great movie idea....having a actual coup built around a movie coup.

Riot-Demonstrations, and Poland

Watched a fair amount of coverage over demonstrations (and later riot-action)....mostly over Frankfurt, Koln and Hamburg.

Most in Frankfurt?  Police say 8,000 range in mid-day....probably around 1,000 as darkness fell.  Violence/fires....mostly after dark.  Police detained a number of folks in the shopping district.  Report suggested around 1,000 police were on the scene there.

Water cannon use noted....with temps down near 5C....awful cold if you got a full dose of the cannon.

I'd say there were two 'players'....students with complaints in the afternoon, who headed home as it got dark.  The rowdy folks stayed and caused the looting/damage.

As for Poland?

I watched the PM (Tusk) give his 8 PM 'talk'.  Three things from that...he proposed at some point, resolutions and laws to rebuild the rule of law, but it's a odd statement from a guy who had a coup-card in the mix.

Then he said the police were there protecting the Constitutional Tribunal from the attackers....but as they arrived....they were mostly there to confine the folks inside the Tribunal building, who were gov't workers.

Then he said brawls are a bad thing....but never saying that coups are pretty bad as well.

I went and watched the 'talk'...with the sound muted.  What I can say....Tusk had a bad case of 'worry'/panic.  Hands shaking at times.  If you asked me over worries....he's maxing out on the scale.

What does not make sense....polls show the KO-Party (Tusk's folks) leading (around 31/32 percent) with the fall 2027 election looking positive for a 'win'.  So why screw up the outlook with a banana-republic coup?  It does not make much logical sense.

Number of suggestions that the coup-planning was mostly a small group (maybe less than ten)....mostly folks around Tusk.  They seemed focused....at the end of the coup, there would be no President or VP....that the public would accept the coup as legitimate, and the whole landscape was we-are-protecting-democracy-by-cranking-up-a-coup.

Early election BS?  There's simply talk....no substance.  There are various triggers to cause a Tusk coalition to collapse.

Four parties make up the Tusk coalition....Poland 2050, Polish People's Party, the New Left, and finally KO (Tusk's own party).  Social commentary?  You get the impression that a lot of folks from the four parties probably were NOT expecting a coup occurring, and rather shocked how things have played out. If there was a vote of confidence over Tusk (the PM)  in the next week....I'd only give him a 50-50 chance of surviving the vote.
