1. WDR (public TV sub-network for NW Germany) having budget meetings.....to find cuts. For programming not in the core time (say 8:15PM to midnight)....budget cut of 50-percent anticipated.
The 'bump-up' in TV tax....did not occur.....so they intend to demonstrate affects.
2. I noticed yesterday......that the Netherlands is advancing repatriation centers outside the EU idea. Germany is also participating in the push against migrants required to leave the country. So far, the destination location isn't openly discussed much....but I would imagine it's in Africa.
3. The German long-term care insurance is running out of money.
According to Federal Health Minister Warken....she wants to correct the blame she places on her predecessors in office with higher contributions. The fix? If you don't produce kids....you get increased cost.
4. NTV-report: one in five Germans still smoke.
5. Heat stress a big deal? Over in France...past week....several folks dead. Having lived for four years in Arizona....I'll just say that if you don't start the day with a hydration-plan (sipping throughout the day)....you are at risk. If you under-hydrate and in your senior-years...just simply taking risks.
6. I noticed a discussion going on....some German gov't authorities are open to the idea of having a AI-system which reviews chatter/news, and determines if it has 'hate-speech' (thus it could be easily deleted). Who would write the code and determine hate-values? Unknown
Personal thoughts....you might end up with a system that one day shuts down all chatter...even the gov't commentary....because it believes 'hate-speech' is uttered. I'm also wondering...if you know the 'code' and got a second AI system involved to write 'safe-but-hate-speech' words....would the bad-boy AI 'beat' the save-the-society AI?
