I sat this morning reading over a curious change in one German state. In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.....the folks who get the welfare check (the citizens' allowance)....will now have to work part-time if they want to to continue to receive the full amount of monthly benefits.
The original aim? For a while, it was aimed in the draft form ONLY for asylum seekers.
The CDU analyzed it and said...why not for everyone?
Odds of a court-response? Oh I give it a 99-percent chance.
But if you asked working-class Germans....this is an idea that they all wanted.
Now, what kind of 'duty' will you get? Unknown.
This ending up being busy-work? From an American prospective? Yeah.
