1. Not that I'm into the European Song Competition (last night)....but at the end...the Swiss kid won....got on stage (must have been near 1 AM), got all excited, drops the trophy. Pretty emotional moment for him, and he fell apart.
2. 2,300 Islamic folks (mostly men) had a demonstration yesterday.....pushing for a Caliphate. I would suggest that they are trying to push it across to other regions. So far, this has only been done in the Hamburg region.
3. Finance Minister (FDP) is asking SPD/Greens if it's really necessary to finance bicycle paths in Peru, with their 'gift' funds.
4. The Berlin Blockade....ended 75 years ago today.

It sounds like you have 2300 volunteers looking for a one-way ticket home to their country of origin.
This Caliphate business is 'anchored' in Hamburg....run by one particular cleric. Odd factor...it's mostly 2nd/3rd generation folks (those born in Germany)...at least this is the police assessment from last week.
Oddly, it's a top-10 topic on public TV news and gov't officials are hyped-up negative over the idea.
Adding to the discussion....Germans have a right of religion written into the Basic Law (constitution), but it also hints....freedom from religion.
Well, the existence of the right of religion is subservient to the constitution that grants it. If you don't like it, head to somewhere else.
At least we can feel comfortable that they're all probably on a watch list and will get sloppy at some point and find themselves in hot water with the authorities. I don't mind my tax money being spent on removing corrosive elements in society.
