For a week or two, I've followed this story in Magdeburg.
For the trial-case against the attacker on the Christmas market in Magdeburg (2024), a temporary courtroom/'barn' has been erected in Magdeburg. 2,000 square meters in size, with space for 700 people and fairly high security standards.
I looked at the picture....huge barn-like structure (aluminum). Looked to me to be big enough for 1.5 basketball courts.
So why erecting this? Well...in Magdeburg.....there is widespread interest in this guy and the attack. Some locals claim from the six dead and 323 wounded....virtually everyone in town knows someone who died and got hurt.
Added to this.....the prosecutor says there will be 300 possible co-plaintiffs.
Huge cost? The story goes.....around 1.5-to-2-million Euro spent.
Would I have gone this way? No....I would have hired a IT group.....filmed the whole thing, and given out some password account to residents of the town....so they could watch it at home...probably for 150k Euro.
Conviction confidence? Near 100-percent, but with all the witnesses involved....this is probably a 90-day court case.
The confusing part of this story? Up until the Christmas Market attack.....this Saudi was regarded as a 'good-Muslim'. So all these positive words he spoke for five or six years? All BS....which makes this a pretty wild story.
