Over the past month, I've watched two mini-series off Netflix here in Germany. Both I highly recommend.
1. Peaky Blinders. A British gritty crime series (five years, around six episodes per year made. Set to the 1920s. The writing is great, and fantastic acting.
But as you look at the attire, the cars, and the landscape....it's extremely well done for the 1920s era. If the era interests you.....you might be surprised.
It also touches on the veterans who came back from WW I, and were fairly messed up.
2. After Life. A two-year series by Ricky Gervais.
Ok, it's a blunt series on death and the inability of this guy to live with wife gone. For anyone who has lost a loved one, I would recommend the series.
Some is awful direct, and tough to 'swallow'. It's also loaded with dark humor and looking at the various faults that we all seem to live with.
Of the various streaming services....I kinda like Netflix because it offers various shows in both English and German, and the monthly rate is fair enough (around 7 Euro).
