I'll often point out bank buildings in Germany.....built in the 1800s and still standing today.....with stone-art which depicts "on the backs of men".
This is a unique one in Kassel and on the Konigsplatz (old city).
Banks were places where you needed to establish a trusting nature with the public and that they were there as a trusting organization and would humbly guard your money as if it was their own. A lot has happened over the past two hundred years, and I doubt if even ten-percent would have that feeling today.
In today's atmosphere, the statue is worthless.....but it does serve to show a moment in history and how art related to business.
