1. Attack on a immigrant German....while on vacation in Paris....by a Islamic guy. Killed the German with a knife....then attacked two others with a hammer.
2. Focus has a piece this morning over the incrimination of Chancellor Scholz....involving a banking-money-laundering scandal (in Hamburg). There has been talk about the scandal developing around Scholz, and that his chief defense has been.....he doesn't remember certain conversations.
If you asked me on the odds of him leaving the Chancellor job over this....I'd give it only a 10-percent chance. If they had solid evidence....he'd be in court....they just don't have that type of case built.
3. Some report from German security folks that a Islamic 'attack' of some type was planned on former prince Harry (apparently in California, if I read this correctly). I read this as being BS mostly.
4. Lot of chaos around the Frankfurt Airport yesterday.....they had to accept around two dozen 'long-hauler' aircraft that were supposed to land in Munich but massive snow there prevented the landings. Frankfurt has said now that space on the ramp is now maxed out.
5. One odd thing you see out of this Dubai climate-control conference....there is a group of 22 nations who intend to replace coal-plant electrical production....with nuke-plants. So over the next two decades.....a tripling of nuke energy plants is likely now to occur. Germany? Nein, danke. The bulk of Germans are still anti-nuke energy. So this might be interesting to watch and see how things develop.
6. The live Anne Will public forum show on ARD (Sunday nights, 9:45 PM) closes tonight....last episode. She retires, and a news public show format is to start in early 2024.
On ranking, at least for general talk over issues....I give the show a 4-star ranking. On certain topics, you could absolutely bet that she'd have four 'talkers' in opposition to something, with only one person favoring something (that was the worst negative of the show).
7. European Cup teams that Germany has to now play against? Scotland, Hungary and Switzerland. All of the 51 games for the Cup will be played in Germany (summer period).
8. Is Kanye West moving to Mallorca (the Spanish isle)? Well....some rumor started up that he's talking to a real estate 'boss' over property.
9. Most areas around Munich got a minimum of 15 inches of snow for Saturday, with temperatures last night dropping to -14 C (7 F). Oddly, at the other end of the country (around Hamburg), snow is supposed to occur today, with a serious temperature drop.
