Basically, the 2024 budget situation cannot be ironed-out until early January of 2024.
Odds of a new federal election? The chatter is mostly 'not yet'. It would appear that if things can't be worked out by late January....yeah, then the three parties would split, and the SPD would form with the CDU-CSU, or call for a new election (probably late April).
This taking up a lot of journalist chatter? Yeah.
