Hamburg, G-20, and the Raids

For those who remember the summer G-20 Summit up in Hamburg....it was a serious disaster for the city and residents there because of the riots that took place.  At the time, some cops analyzed how the events were taking place with the riot crowd, and had the opinion that these were prior planned operations.

Well....this week, there's some raids taking place around Germany.  Stuttgart and a couple of towns are mentioned, and they are basically putting together the various players, their computer chat episodes, and establishing a long-term investigation.

I'll admit....it might be two years before all of the chat-text is pieced up and the various players are known.....but I would take a guess that by the end of 2019...some folks are going to be arrested and be amazed that the federal cops have conspiracy charges up against them.

All of this will probably lead to at least a hundred folks facing some court action...as 'planners'.  Jail-time?  You don't get typically long stretches of time in prison for this type of event, but you could be talking about two or three years in prison, and felony convictions (go figure your job future after that).

A shock?  I think most Hamburg folks are bitter about the lack of progress and no one yet seen as convicted.  But on the other hand.....all of this organizational  business would not have occurred....if it were not for the requirements that exist now for internet providers to keep data and message traffic....because of the terror-laws created in the past five years.  Folks are sitting there now and wondering....if their apartment will be next on the list for a raid.
