It was a page two story in the news and I doubt if more than five-percent of German society read through or heard the entire story via public-TV news.
The topic? An EU Prosecutor.
Most BREXIT people would be amused because it's just another reason to pile on the exit from the EU.
The EU has voted and adapted a path for the existence of a EU Prosecutor. Purpose? To go after EU-related fraud (typically over misused of EU funds), corruption that crosses borders in the EU, and money-laundering that exists within the EU.
The location of this Prosecutor? Luxembourg. They've got funding set up for roughly a hundred lawyers....I would take a guess that another three-hundred support personnel will be in the mix. This whole thing will be operational within three years.
The problems ahead? I can just see this Prosecutor team showing up and presenting an EU-search warrant and someone saying 'no'....they don't recongize that and you need to get a search warrant from the local state judge.
Creating a bigger mess? I can see various EU states coming up to find EU Prosecutor investigations going on and demanding to know what the deal is....and no one will explain it. You can figure in less than ten years, this is going be another negative arm of the EU which no one can control. And the money-laundering aspects? You could be talking about billions at stake here and a number of people working to get insiders into this lawyer group and to mismanage it for their purposes.
