Theatrical Drama Story

On 24 July 2009.....the Love Parade was held in Duisburg.  Chaos occurred with the thousands there, and at the end of the day....500 Germans were injured in some way, and 21 people were dead.

There's been a lot of discussion over the years about this parade, the organizing effort, the authorities who were supposed to prevent such chaos, and the consequences left (that was the final Love Parade).

The topic came back up in the last week....as Ulrich Greb has put together a theater production of the 24 July 2009 event.

It's hard to say if this is a positive thing or to be a closure situation for those involved.

Some Germans are often in the belief that operatic devices or theater-type stories.....trigger conversations and people become 'enlightened'.

I sat pondering over the use of 24 July Love Parade and the idea of getting closure out of a theater production.  There are those who lost kids who were attending the fest, and for a lot of those who were attending the fest.....they were in the middle of this chaos....likely still having nightmares years later.  Some survived....only because of luck.

It's one of those odd things....where Germans want to tell a story, and lay out the drama involved.
