Stress on German Police

There's this curious piece from RBB (public German TV from Berlin) which relates to Covid, public perception, and the police.

I sat and watched it, and then went back to read the whole story again.

More and more Berlin police/emergency services people are going to organizational health experts to talk over the level of stress in their lives.  What the leadership is basically admitting.....a fair number are having coping issues.

A lot of ridicule....lot of negative attitude by the public....and there's fear building up as they walk off onto a shift....never sure about what kind of incident they will walk into.

It probably wouldn't surprise me if they reach a point in the next couple of years where a retirement cut of another five years, and you start seeing review boards consider a lot more early retirement situations.
