1. On 7 June, the vaccine priority system will end, and anyone will be able in Germany to get the Covid vaccinations....between the vaccination centers or their doctors.
The number of Germans now vaccinated? Nearing 31-million (on first shot). Last week, they had some huge 'burst' with around 900k Germans vaccinated in one single day by the private doctors.
2. These anti-Semitic incidents over the past couple of days in Germany? Drawing a lot of political criticism, and some politicians (CDU Party) are suggesting that punishments might need to occur, to get correct behavior out of people. Some people are even suggesting that integration has not fully occurred.
3. An arrest warrant was typed up for Attila Hildmann back in Feb....mostly for extremist-related 'behavior' (at demonstrations). Well....someone within the prosecutor's office apparently blabbed that the paperwork was being prepared, and that gave a hint to Hildmann to sneak out of Germany (to Turkey). Prosecution is investigating the whole thing and wants to find out who warned Hildmann.
4. German soccer federation president (Fritz Keller) finally resigned. About a month ago, Keller made a statement suggesting a member of the federation was acting like a character from the 1930s Nazi Germany. That got everyone hyped up and the demand came for Keller to leave. You can use just about any character from Germany history to criticize or label people....but not from the 1932 to 1945 era.
5. I watched a news update (public TV, HR) from last night where a German roofer got into a serious topic....escalating price of wood for roof renovation projects. Lot of older homes go through a roof upgrade (new timber/tiles) and the pricing is presently 30 to 50 percent higher and escalating.
