I sat and watched GB News this AM. It's Brit news...somewhat to the conservative side, but they often carry both sides of a topic. So the interview segment this morning involved a 'Just Stop Oil' spokesperson.
For reference, the group 'Just Stop Oil' is an advocacy group out of the UK....started about 13 months ago. I'd generally say their hype or trend goes to blocking roads and low-level vandalism (stuff that you might get a month in jail for).
Their intent? Fossil fuel is 'evil', buildings ought to be better insulated, and renewable is the only way to the future.
So GB had a Q-and-A with this one guy....Eddie Whittingham.
Eddie says in the middle of this....things are so bad off for climate change and the future....that he's decided not to have any kids.
Eddie does come across as somewhat bright. His sales pitch? Well....things are going to hell, there's no recovery possible, and life is going to be awful bad in the future.
I sat and pondered over his 'pitch'.
When you get dragged into a propaganda campaign, and really start to believe what is preached.....you lose your prospective and start getting stupid.
As long as this new way of thinking only involves a hundred people in the UK....it's not a big deal. If you had 50,000 British folks who won't reproduce....it's probably going to create a problem. 500,000 Brit folks on this mindset....you can see serious problems.
Hard to imagine....getting a chance for a national TV interview, and this is your sales pitch.
