If you follow German news from last night, and updated this morning.....Poland’s current populist president Andrzej Duda.....has won re-election. He defeated Warsaw’s liberal mayor Rafal Trzaskowski.
For the past month, if you watched ARD or ZDF (public TV in Germany)....lot of chatter over the election, and this 'doom' period ending shortly as Duda was expected to lose.
A fair amount of interview time was spent with both TV networks....criticism of the results, and how the election went.
Difference in votes? Duda had an edge of about 900k votes (roughly 3 points over the competitor).
The term 'populist' uttered frequently? If I counted over the entire past month....the German description of Duda and 'populist' was probably spoken at least sixty times on prime-time news.
