With all the short-work and Corona ban rules in effect....one of the general questions has been....would air quality around Germany show dramatic improvement?
Well, there's this interesting article via NDR (NW Germany public network) which covers the topic this morning.
This comes from testing by the Environmental Department of Lower Saxony (the German state)....which says that nitrate oxide (the product of diesel cars) declined in almost all cases. Air pollution in general....down by half in Oldenburg.
The Federal folks looking nationally? They don't cite numbers but indicate that across all of German....pollution lessened in this period.
The problem with this....they can't maintain this ban type situation forever, and the numbers will see an increase eventually.
