This was a page three type story on early Monday, and it has quickly progressed to the front-page of most newspapers, and spoken about via social media. The best description that I will point at....is via Focus.
So on Sunday morning in Oppenau, a town of 5,000 in Baden-Wurttemberg (SW Germany)....four German police came with a warrant for his arrest. The potential crime for the warrant? Extortion.
Something in the arrest attempt by the four police went wrong, and this one single guy....Yves Rausch....flipped them, took their weapons, and escaped.
This massive search has started up and the guy is considered armed and dangerous.
What the police say about the guy? Literally dozens of entries on his police record.
Based on their description....he's a 'nutcase'. This is a guy who has lived the last couple of years in a hut in the woods...strictly an odd-jobs type person, and had difficulty fitting into society.
The big worry while on the run? He has four German police pistols.
