I've essayed a few times over the Tonnies episode....a big meat-packing plant in NW Germany, where 1,500 employees got a huge testing of Corona-positive, and shut down about a month ago.
Yesterday, Tonnies was supposed to re-open.
Well....a state inspection/audit occurred, and the re-opening failed. What the company generally says is that distancing rules influence the operation of the meat-packing plant, and they are hoping that something can be resolved, and re-opening will occur on Friday (today).
Focus has a decent telling of the story.
The company bluntly points out....various procedures and rules were in place for two decades....accepted by the government. And now? Unacceptable.
The odds of another shut-down? In a month or two, I'd expect another mass inspection and bulk-Corona-test conducted, with a shutdown again possible.
This is a case where the meat-packing industry may see it easier to relocate to another country....than continue operating in Germany itself.
