Doctor Doom Story

 I sat last night and watched the Maybrit Illner Show (on ZDF, Channel Two, public TV)....a live forum chat show, and the topic was.....of course, Covid-19.  The highlight of the show?  They had the two guys I'd consider Doctor Doom #1 and Doctor Doom #2....the German experts on Covid.

It's safe to say Doctor Doom #1 doesn't readily agree with Doctor Doom #2, and this was one of the rare moments when Maybrit Illner brought two on the same stage, with a reporter, politician, and a science journalist.

Somehow, the conversation drifted around to the crowd who aren't getting vaccinated, the Delta variant, and the effective nature of such-and-such vaccine.  

Well....Doctor Doom #1 stated the effective nature was 98-percent (stating data collection and analysis).

Then....Doctor Doom #2 jumped into the talk, and countered that it was ONLY 93-percent effective.....stating some study out of Israel.  

This discussion went on for two or three minutes....arguing what was a five point difference.

You could see an amused look on Illner's face, and I would imagine the vast viewing audience was just sitting and laughing (like myself).

It was like two weather guys getting real intense....one saying that it was a 93-percent chance of rain today, and the other saying it was a 98-percent chance of rain.

At the end of this whole show....what the real discussion drilled down into, was that a fair number of politicians/doctors....want some method of forcing or punishing people over the vaccination.  Part of this 'fight'....centers on the fact that the hype for the vaccination business has probably started to peak-out.  I might go and suggest that the final bit of the hype is slated for the rest of July, and maybe most of August....with accomplishment at the end of August near 65-to-70 percent.  

What's hurting at this point, if you ponder upon the subject....a whole bunch of 'promises' occurred in the fall of 2020 in Germany....where politicians said things about how life would be once the vaccination program finished up (no more masks, trips easily accomplished, the virus coming to an end, death rate dwindling down, schools no longer cancelled, etc).  Those promises tend to be forgotten....except when journalists want to discuss them, and bring back up the video/audio.  

I'll end this essay with this observation.  It'd be mighty fine to have a German moderator arrange a show where you had Doctor Doom #1, #2, #3, and #4.  Just let them start talking over Covid, and see how quick the general public discounts all four individuals, and the intensity of their 'facts'.
