This came up this morning on N-TV (German commercial news) and it's just an odd Covid-science discussion.
There's this 90-year old Belgium woman who died recently.....from Covid.
Doctors ran some tests after the death and they are faced with some odd stuff. The woman had a minimum of two variants of Covid in her system. Yes, two different Covid types....at the same time.
The science guys suggest that she became infected from two different people....each with one single variant of the disease.
This being unusual? Well....they worded it this way....they think that it probably happens more than people think, and that you normally don't go digging too much into a dead person's cause of death.
If you think about it....you might run a standard regular Covid test, just to confirm you have Covid in general. These days, with variants now possible? Well...you'd have to put some effort into the testing.
The fact that we are up to four variants now, and probably the fifth will be noted within the next few weeks? You could write up some scenario where you got three different folks greet you in the office and a week later....you could be sitting a hospital with doctor so-and-so telling you that you have variant A, B, and C.
If things were bad enough already.....they just went up a notch.
