I was watching N-TV today (commercial news) and this report came up about a study by the University of Mainz. So two interesting facts:
1. Germans who live on the marginal side of life (welfare class)....have roughly a one and a half times more opportunity of getting Covid.
They suggest the living conditions....being the cause, but they didn't go into a lot of discussion over this.
2. So there's this other odd discovery with their study....around 40-percent of Germans aren't aware they were infected. Yes, they went through 'something' but didn't seem to get tested or figure it was serious.
In fact, they can say that this was prevalent with men. One number that popped up....from the older guys (75-to-88 year old guys)....63-percent of these guys showed antibodies and had evidentially had a case of Covid.
A national survey? No....this was strictly a Mainz report study.
So were there a lot of Germans over the past year who had a fairly 'light' case of Covid and just figured it was a cold? Well...you sit and wonder about this possibility.
I looked at the number of infections (officially) since day one in Germany. 3,739,214.
If you use that number and inject the extra 40-percent, you'd end up with 5.2-million Germans who possibly had Covid.
Just something to think about.
