Three Things This Aiwanger-Scandal In Bavaria Gives Society

First, a fair sum of Germans (maybe as many as one-third of the public) are asking how the newspaper dragged this up, timing this just right to benefit either the SPD or Green Party in Bavaria.

The term 'manipulation' is probably uttered a good bit at present.

Hurting the news sector?  Yeah, it's going to bounce around for months, and create a counter-culture who don't trust the news media as much.

Second, both the SPD and Greens had a public perception problem before this came along....leading to a build-up of the AfD Party.  This scandal was constructed in a way to benefit either party, and will be used as a counter-weight by the AfD Party in future elections beyond the Bavaria state election.

Third, a fair number of Germans are asking just how far back 'attacks' will go in the future?  Will some incident that you were involved in....back in 1995 be dragged up?  Will some social media 'joke' you passed around in 2008 be used to counter your campaign?  Will some 92-year-old teacher of yours from 1982 be dragged out to 'dump' on your intelligence level?

Presently, I think a lot of politicians will be happy as the two state elections conclude shortly, and have a lot of things forgotten.
