I essayed a piece yesterday....talking over the police moving into a district of Berlin to shut down an illegal bar operation (the guys had simply opened door of a pub, set it up, and started serving beer).
The police did show up (700 in number) and some minor confrontations did occur, but the bar did close up.
It appears (based on RBB reporting) that several hundred locals from the area (SE Berlin) appeared with fireworks and smoke bombs, and briefly confronted the police last night.
Forty locals were arrested as the evening progressed.
The odds that this will spill over and be a continual confrontation? Hard to say.
