The Essential and the Non-Essential

“The art of reading and studying consists in remembering the essentials and forgetting what is not essential.”

  -- Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf

Yeah, he actually wrote this and believed in the concept.  You didn't necessarily need to read and grasp what was taught....you would just identify what was essential out of the book you read (maybe three pages), and then forget the rest shortly after that.

The odds that most every German who had a copy of Mein Kampf (probably 90-percent of the population)....marginally read some small portion of it, and most everyone would admit after WW II....they didn't remember a single thing from the book?  I'd suggest more than 99-percent.

Just an odd factor about this period of German history.
