Yesterday, I ended up in Wiesbaden and had a banana split. 8.50 Euro....up 1 Euro over the past year.
But there was this funny thing about this.
Typically, there will be three regular-sized scoops of ice cream, with a banana sliced, then some whipped cream over that.
The scoops on my plate? Well.....they were not the normal sized scoops. I'd say they were three-quarters the typical size. Then the whole thing was covered with 'extra' whipped cream to hide the missing ice cream.
If they'd put the normal ice cream on the plate? I'm guessing it would have been closer to 9.50 to 9.75 Euro.
One can laugh about this development but inflation is opening up all kinds of 'cheating'.
