It's a bit comical, but around late February of this year.....this regional CDU political figure from Hessen had his 60th birthday.
Quietly, away from the public view....he had a birthday party, which one of the invited guests took video.
So here are these dozen-odd guests, and this guy....hanging out....no social distance in the house, and no masks.
Massive criticism? Oh yeah.
The guy? Klaus-Peter Willsch from Hohenstein. HR covered the story and even put up pictures from the video.
The ban-rule violated? A family could have a dinner or 'party' with one 'other' guest. Beyond that, he's in violation.
This affecting voting in the municipal election in Hessen on Sunday? No doubt. If you asked me how many votes it flipped for the entire state? Probably fewer than 500 (my humble guess).
I suspect if you went out and asked....probably a quarter of the state violation have violated this single-guest rule at least once in the past four months. (I haven't).
So, some advice....if you hold parties and are in violation of some ban-rule....don't shoot video or advertise what you did. Be discreet when you violate rules.
