Mask Chatter

Around three months ago, the authorities in Germany made a big deal that you had to wear either authentic hospital masks (of a particular variety) or FFP-2 masks.  Anything else (probably what 90-percent of society was wearing at the time) was not 'authorized'.  This includes the fabric type, and cheaper medical masks (the type that I had an entire box procured via Amazon).

So in a ten-day period, everyone had to rush out and spend a serious amount of money for the FFP-2 masks (figure four to six Euro for what was a 12-hour use mask).  A month into this episode....the price rapidly decreased....to the point now where you can buy a ten-pack of the FFP-2 masks for five-to-six Euro.

Focus now brings up this odd topic....that the FFP-2 mask wasn't really tested before....for aerosol situations.  The mask was actually developed for interior painting or interior construction work....by the EU standard (EU149).

Silly now?  Well...it begs the question....who exactly within the EU or the Health Ministry of Germany wrote this change order back in December?

The chatter of wearing two masks?  Well....now you realize the logic in this stupid idea....the one mask wasn't made for aerosol situations or the finer particles.
