The 'Festival for Democracy'

So, the Berlin Olympic Stadium (built for the Olympics in 1936, big enough for around 74,000) is being pursued for a rental situation....12 June 2020....a fest for democracy.

N-TV news covered the basic story, and it's curious piece.

You would pay around 30 Euro to enter the stadium.  The evening would be some type of speech and music occasion....which draws you to this bold new political world, with chatter on climate change, wealth distribution, welfare change, and at the end of this evening....charge you up with proposed solutions and a petition to hand the Bundestag to change things.

Direct democracy?  Not quiet, but the action with the petition will be a 'card' put upon the table to suggest that.

Doing this 15 months away from a national election?  That's a factor that you tend to notice.

Chief sponsor of the effort so far?  Oddly enough, a condom company (Einhorn).

Will this meeting be worth the 30-Euro ticket?  That part....I would question.  Maybe they've got two or three bands lined up for entertainment.

The potential that this is some national 'kick-off' for the 2021 national election, and the five state elections?  Well, that's what I would kinda wonder about.  A party behind this?  No, and that should beg for more questions.
