Germany and Covid-19: 14 Jan 2021

On Covid news today....it's a pretty harsh hype going on:

1.  The Chancellor and staff are looking at a absolute maximum shut-down....way past anything that has been discussed in the past.

Basic idea?  All transportation (trains and buses) would be shutdown.  You would be obligated (forced) to do home-office (wherever possible).  A national curfew is openly discussed now.  This Bavarian FFP2 mandated mask discussion has expanded out to other states now.

Are there enough FFP2 masks out there for immediate distribution?  The government seems to believe that.

2.  The Economics Minister?  He put a simple worded statement today....don't go expecting much now for recovery in 2021.

3.  The lighter opening talked about on 1 Feb?  That's apparently gone.  If you review the chatter.....it looks now more likely for more harsh actions to occur....state-by-state.

4. 1,267 deaths reported over past twenty-four hours in Germany.

5.  This morning, the vaccination folks reported that they'd reached the 1-percent point of the population now vaccinated (out of 83-million).

6.  The Germans have a list of ten older folks who've died after getting the Covid vaccination.  So far, no one thinks it's connected to the shot....just old age issues.  But as you'd figure.....they will investigate the trend.

Just my humble view....from 1 Feb on (probably for six weeks minimum), it looks pretty shutdown across all of Germany.
