This FFP-2 Mask Chatter

For the vast majority of 2020....any type of mask was sufficient (at least spoken by the German Health Ministry).  In the past ten days?  Well....some new enthusiasm has occurred that only this FFP-2 mask (with the filter) is sufficient.  The drama building up?

This mostly goes to the new Brit variant/mutation of Covid-19.  In simple terms.....it's able to attach itself to a person in a better fashion.  Beyond that.....illness-wise, it's practically the same deal.

Cost factor?  Generally....it's around 25-percent more (compared against the plain paper-mask).

Lasting about the same length of time (1 shift of eight to ten hours)?  Yes.

Current usage before this whole drama came up in the past couple of weeks?  Well....I'd say from walking around (most at  grocery stores)....it's maybe 40 to 50 percent of people now using it.

Real worry?  This gets down to the virus being more easily passed, and the idea that the plain paper masks and cloth masks....simply don't are that effective.  Trying to get out a number on effectiveness?  Forget it....no one seems to want to make some PhD-type study on this.

Are there even enough ffp-2 masks around?  In the past month....it's an odd thing, I've probably seen tons of them at grocery stores.

Fake FFP-2 masks around?  This got hyped up yesterday and there's no doubt that counterfeit FFP-2 masks exist.  They even wanted folks to know that the fake certification 'mark'....could be counterfeited.

Best measure?  Basically....until it warms up in April....stay home....lock yourself in the basement....have your beer delivered to the house....douse yourself with a coffee-cup of alcohol after each shopping adventure, and avoid public situations.
