Car Show Episode

So for those who didn't know.....the IAA (the big int'l autoshow held in Germany) had issues two years ago, and it was 'damaged' greatly by anti-car enthusiasts while in Frankfurt.....so a decision was made to haul the show elsewhere.  In the end....Munich became the new site.

This week, the show started up.

If you follow public TV news out of Munich....the anti-car enthusiasts showed back up again....massive delays on the autobahn.

It's an amusing because virtually ALL of the show is now about electric cars....precisely what the environmentalists 'begged' for.

So, here's the interesting twist to this current problem.  In the old days (up to 2019)....it was held in Frankfurt, and Hessen judges could be fairly lenient to the protest crowd arrested.

I noticed in Bavaria....the judges had the arrested folks hauled up and basically said they'd be held until the show is wrapped up and finished.

Bavarian public prosecutors seeking extra 'pain'?  If you read through various local sources....at least they are talking about serious charges....which might amount to real jail-time (not 30 days in some local jail).  Did the protest crowd expect that?  Hard to say.
