On the SW end of Berlin.....between Checkpoint Charlie and the Bergmannkiez neighborhood....there's an event 'center' called Temprodrom. It's been around since 1980, and is fairly well known in the city. You rent the 'tent' and perform your concert or show there.
Last night, gunfire erupted. Several folks wounded, one dead. Deutsche Welle is covering the basic story.
Trigger to the chaos? Unknown. Event being held at the Temprodrom? Well....a Turkish comedy show.
Locally, huge police reaction occurred, with cops showing up with their rifles, and prepared for serious confrontation (if required).
What the police do say? Whoever did the shooting (suggesting several folks)....basically walked away.
Some gang event? No one says much but I would imagine that this is how they label the event. Conducting this in a huge public area? Maybe they were trying to send a message that they will not be intimidated.
