There was a staged trip to Africa for Chancellor Merkel to Angola and South Africa.
The German media used some video clips of the ceremony, and noted both Merkel and the Angolan President sitting for large parts of the ceremonies.
If you go and view the Angolan clips....by Angolan media....the Angolan President will stand during various parts of the ceremony, while Merkel sits.
Skin color for Merkel? It would be the type that you'd worry about hydration if we were in Arizona.
One of the issues of type-2 diabetes is that you can easily get dehydrated. If she did have type-2 diabetes....would the Chancellor even discuss the matter? I doubt it.
She has roughly 20 months left to go, and my guess is that she'll stage various events in a way to avoid standing for long periods, and try to stay out of the sun as much as possible.
