Corona Bits

There are three things that Germans came to discover that came with the Covid-19 'era'.

First, tolls off the autobahns decreased (via trucks).

N-TV talked about this here in the AM.....for the month of May, around 95-million less Euro gained for the nation via the tolls.

Traffic returning to normal?  Yes.  But that's 95-million Euro missing from the budget.

Second, N-TV also discussed the fact that around one-third of Germans admit that they were drinking more while in the home quarantine period of April-May.   No one is saying how much more, and this was a poll....just asking Germans in general if they consumed more.

This admission isn't something to surprise me....folks who would normally be at work, and sitting at home for days at a time....would need some way to chill out.  Since sports and regular activities were kinda banned....drinking went higher.

So then we come to the third item of discovery....N-TV reports that state and federal investigators in Germany are on the trail of a minimum of 5,000 cases of fraud, false data or money laundering....of Corona emergency funding by the government.  The amount discussed?  22-million Euro.
