Six German News Stories

 1.  As the smoke has cleared in Berlin over the city election, with the CDU Party now controlling the mayor's seat....it's an odd thing developing over the forced re-election.

Ten Linke Party, Green Party and SPD Party folks....who held city-state cabinet posts....will continue to get their salary through the fall of 2026 (next 'real' city election)...even though they don't occupy positions of authority.

What this amounts to?  About 330,000 Euro each.  There's some kind of rule that was inserted into the law back a year ago....just effective for city gov't people in this unique forced election.  Money comes out of the city budget.

2.  Some Russian propagandist appeared on Russian TV last night.....saying the food shortage was so bad in the UK....that they were now eating squirrels.

I suspect Brits are laughing over this.

3.  Ukraine has asked for a million rounds of ammo from the EU.  Presently...that's about four times the amount that the EU said it could provide.

4.  A German gov't study has concluded that 50-percent of German housing....is NOT capable of implementing a heat-pump situation.

5.  Some type of German gov't review was concluded on gun licenses.....saying now that around 1,000 Germans who are on some 'type' of watch list....hold a license and a gun.

The general situation?  They are careful not to say the path here, but I would take a guess that the majority of the people live in rural regions....hold a hunting license as well.....and have hunting weapons in their possession.

6.  The Trier disco attack on the police (from two weeks ago) has now resulted in video review, and a new arrest....a 16-year old German kid.
