Business Story

There's a great business report this morning via N-TV news (German commercial network) which talks about the stagnant feeling on the approaching new year.  I strongly recommend a read of the story (in German).

The analysts suggest that in Germany presently.....with small and medium sized companies....the general 'future' feeling is the worst of the past ten years.  Some of this has to do with BREXIT, some with the Trump disputes over trade, and some simply involve a global economy that has slowed down.

But here's the other side of the story....if you asked the same companies about the situation presently.....they are all still positive and hyped up.  2019 has been a mighty fine year.

They even mentioned one industry in particular....construction....which is probably on one of the best years of the past decade.

So all of this together?  It's mostly about optimism I think....that all signs show a great economy right now, with German unemployment near 3.1-percent (nationally).  I know....if you bring up several major east German cities...it's still dismal.  But plugging away is the great economy of Hessen, Baden-Wuerttemberg, and Bavaria.
