An Update

I essayed a update piece last week on a mass shooting event at the Rot am See region (6 people killed, all by the same guy....a relative of the family).

The mass shooting was six months ago, and at the time, I suggested that paranoid schizophrenia would come up.

Yesterday, SWR (public TV) reported that the doctor for the court had examined the German guy, and presented his argument.

The doctor went the other way on his description...avoiding the term paranoid schizophrenia, and simply noted that the guy was in a delusional type disorder....that he believed things which simply weren't true.  He even noted that the guy seemed to be highly intelligent and of a clear mind.

Court decision?  It'll be made on Friday.  Based on the delusional comment, it's very possible that the guy is sent to a mental facility and housed there.

For reference, the weapon used?  Legally purchased, and the license was rightfully gained by the laws in place.  At no point did his doctor suggest that he was 'crazy' or such....which would have hindered the purchase or the gaining of the license.
