Bus-Driver Story

It's mostly a page-two story in Germany, but it's worth a minute to review and understand what happened here.  ARD (public TV, Channel One) does the best introduction or description.

Local French bus-driver in Bayonne, France (far SW of France, town of 50k residents)....came to a stop.  Several folks wanted to get on....some without masks.

It doesn't matter where you go in Europe currently, most all cities have required masks for bus and rail travel.

The driver was going to enforce the rule, and there started an argument.

Over the next few minutes....an attack started up...primarily by two young men (ages 22/23).  When it was done, the ambulance came, and later....the bus driver was pulled off life-support.....dead.

Charges?  Manslaughter currently....I suspect murder might be thrown in at a later point.

Two additional folks have been detained as well.  Their offense?  Not coming to the rescue of the driver...simply standing there and watching the event unfold.

Where this is going to go?  If you look at local French reporting from Bayonne....lot of chatter going on about private security people (basically becoming bus-bouncers) being hired to ride the buses, and be an intimidation factor for future 'thugs'.  Cost?  Well....it'll have to be put onto the backs of consumers.

Stupid behavior?  Absolutely.  But this is the problem with the Corona agenda, bans, and expectations upon the public.  You simply have a number of people who are now anti-mask, and don't want to participate in the situation that the public leadership has established.  It's crazy that folks would get this violent and kill someone over the rules, yet this is where we are today.
