Back in November, I went to purchase an additional heat device for the living room....considering the natural gas price presently.
So, for around 29 Euro.....I bought this.
First, from use....I'll say it only achieves around 2 degrees of added heat in a room of 8 square meters (normal ceiling). If you were heating to 19 degrees C....it would bring it up to 21 F.
Second, you end up using five tea candles for this single evening event. Don't use the mega size tea candles.
Third, overpriced? After looking at the construction....it's basically two ceramic pots, a ceramic bottom, and this bolt. If you priced each built device at the local hardware store, it'd be around 18 Euro. I do agree....you could make it yourself....for a cheaper price.
Fourth, any danger? I've seen photos where people used mega candles and cracked the ceramic pots easily. Beyond that....no.
I'll just say that in normal winter nights (where it's not below freezing).....there's no reason to use it. If you are going to the 18 to 19 C temperature gimmick to save on natural gas costs.....then it makes some sense to heat a central room in the house with this.
The fact that some of these are advertised at 40-to-50 Euro? Yeah, it's a rip-off.
