Five German News Stories

1.  An riot in Hamburg.  What the cops say....someone posted something on social media (no one identifies which....might be Tik Tok, FB, Instagram, etc).  The comment was 'free' clothing to be given away at a shop.

Probably in the first half-hour....there were a thousand 'kids' to show up.  As the event was determined to be false....the crowd trimmed down to 400.  This group was in a hostile state of mind, and the cops were called.

Age situation?  No one says much.  I doubt these were older teens....more likely to be age 13 to 16 (my humble guess).

Then....fireworks and glass bottles were thrown.  Police react....calling in for more help.  Eventually, two-hundred police were there in riot-gear....using irritant gas and batons.  Some kids were detained.

From beginning to end?  About five hours.

Who started the fake story?  Unknown at present....my guess is that the cops will spend some time and eventually track the kid down who started the story.  I'll admit....I've not seen something like this occur in Germany before.

2.  Focus carried a piece this AM....talking over a serious logistics problem developing.  Trucking companies in Germany currently are missing around 80,000 drivers.  It's become a profession that people avoid.

3.  Management consultants McKinsey....went and did a study of electrical power in Germany today, and projected out....Germany will be 'missing' (lacking is a better word) 30 power plants in the future.

BS factor?  I looked over the wording and it would appear to have energy experts connected to it, and they did look at escalating need for power.  It would be a shock to wake up in five to ten years.....finding that you have a 'limit' now existing (something you don't have presently).

4.  Odd development with the Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) port up in the Hamburg area (Brunsbüttel).  Locals are calling in....as a ship came to 'off-load' it's LNG....there's a constant 'hum' being heard....24 hours a day.

The operators are trying to assure folks....it's just a temporary thing.

5.  Odd picture shown on N-TV news....from the Russia-Ukraine war.  What I'd describe is a Armored Personnel Carrier, with some kind of 'cannon' steel box mounted on the rear.  What the military analyst says....it's a former cannon that was developed for Soviet-era ships.

Stuff from retired ships?  It would appear that way....but I would imagine they have shells from that era left over, and this modification....probably could be done with each APC in a matter of a day or two.

Making the APC extremely tall?  Well....I'd say prior to this 'add-on'....these were around 8-to-9 ft tall, and with the naval cannon added....it's probably 20-to-24 tall now.

Turning the APC into a tank?  I'm not a Army expert but you get the sense that was the intention/design.  If you did go and modify the interior....you could haul around two or three times the number of shells that a tank could haul.  I guess that would be the motive.  Doubling up on fuel consumption? I would kinda wonder how the fuel rate is for this modification.

McKinsey tends to be more accurate with more hits than misses with their assessments. Hopefully it spawns a rethink on nuclear and more renewable efforts.
