My Funniest Story Over The Covid Era

I have a former co-worker who lives here in the Wiesbaden region....in one of the outer suburbs, and before Covid....he had a number of Germans he connected with.

So around 12 months into Covid....with the stringent rules in place that you could not hook-up or talk business with anyone on a street....he went for a walk one evening (just after dark....right before curfew time).

On this German street....he meets up with a German that he'd known for several years.  Standing two meters (roughly six feet apart), they start a conversation.  Houses around....normal home district.  Someone apparently hears the chatter....calls the cops.

About five to ten minutes into this street chat....German cops drive up.  They stop and ask what's going on.  It was a simple response from the two, and then the cops said 'scram, before we give you a summons to a judge'.

So the two walked off in slightly different direction (both more or less toward the river, about 300 feet away).  Whoever called the cops on the Covid violation in front of their home....were happy.  The 'bad' curfew/rule-breakers were defeated.

My friend and his associate....quietly moved the chat to a bench by the river and there....without any houses around or Germans searching for curfew violations.....sat for an hour having a chat....about a meter apart, on a bench.

I would imagine nightly in this curfew period.....more than 300,000 events like this occurred across Germany.  Some shared a brief conversation.  Some probably criticized the rules and curfew.  Some might have shared a tender moment, or a hug.  Some might have felt like they were in some fantasy science-fiction world.

At one point, some cops from north Germany reported on a call from some person....reporting two vehicles parked in a wooded area just outside of a village.  Cops got there to discover a married gal was getting some action with a married guy....after curfew, and thus violating the contact rules.  What the two got....a summons to appear in front of a judge.  Beyond that, it's anyone's guess if the judge fined them, or just gave them an intense 12-minute lecture to hold back these 'urges'.

It's funny to look back now and realize how much enforcement was expended on society.  At some point, I expect some comedians to gather and make a movie over the curfew era.

The level of stupidity that i have experienced here in Canada too is beyond imagination.
I thought that we were brainwashed under Ceausescu dictatorship, but Covid propaganda and absurdity reached levels that i could have never thought i would ever experience again in my life... but here we are 30 years later, going through the feed from the propaganda machine day after day for 3 solid years. I lost friends during this time, i never thought they can be so gullible.
