In recent weeks, a topic has come up....whether the government should issue an immunity card to people.
The card would fall along this discussion....either you'd have a signed card from the doctor on a vaccination (yet to be clear about), or it'd be signed to say you had one bout with Corona.
But this has dragged out the other curious thing....no one is sure that you only get this once.
What would the card get you? They suggest the ability to travel, but that's not very clear about where you could go.
Some folks (the Linke Party for example) are saying that Germany is slipping into the surveillance 'state'....suggesting it's like old DDR.
Public commentary? Some folks are asking if this vaccination is going to be 'forced' (hinting they aren't happy about that deal). Some are laughing that the card would make things look like 1933 and the Nazis. Then you have a few who are saying they are non-conformists, and will not cooperate with the vaccination or the card.
Behind all of this.....the 'new' Germans (the Syrians, Iraqis, Turks, etc)....are looking at all of this discussion and just shaking their heads. In the old homeland, you'd just be told X was going to happen......there'd be no discussion or Q and A situation.
Me? I'd likely ask the doctor if this was good for Covid-19, the Coronavirus, the Wuhan virus, or the China virus......to see how he relates all of this to the vaccine. Between 1977 and 1999.....I probably took fifty shots of various types, and one more probably won't kill me.

Germany and the Coronavirus: 4 May 2020
1. Deaths: 6,729 Infected: 163,465 (Focus numbers). Note: this is infected since day one, and roughly 70-percent of those folks are now 'well'. Reproduction rate: .75-percent (anything lower than 1-percent is considered great).
2. As of 7 AM in Saxony-Anhalt (the state).....most of the ban rules are 'dumped'. Five people can ride in a car. Two people can meet on the street and have a chat. Social distancing still applies. On top of that, there is a state meeting on Wednesday of this week.....to open up cafes and restaurants (rules likely to follow).
The national push to have one single system? Dumped by individual states. They are moving on.
Even NRW (the state) is chatting over opening daycare operations in the next week (with rules).
3. Lot of political chatter going on about vouchers or 'deals'. Some are suggesting money to be offered if you go out and buy an E-car right now, swapping in your gas/diesel car. Some are suggesting a 250-Euro voucher to each adult in Germany (to wildly spend). So far, nothing substantial to say it'll actually occur.

Barbershops and hair-dresser operations reopen today. But there are rules/bans.
1. Shaving and beard cutting? Out.
2. Offering coffee, tea or water to a customer? Out.
3. Offering a magazine? Ok, but no explanation on hygiene handling.
4. The hints that you shouldn't have people sitting or waiting in the shop.
5. You have to leave your name and address with the shop. They have to retain the info for three weeks. If you offer a fake name/address (Micky Mouse, Magic Kingdom)? Don't ask, these are Germans and they aren't amused.
6. Ventilation must be achieved. Don't ask.
7. Some folks are suggesting because of the extra rules....cost might be bumped up 10-percent (temporarily).

More on the TV Crew Attack in Berlin
There's an updated piece by N-TV news this morning....over the ZDF (Channel Two public TV) film crew attack that occurred on 1 May.
The Berlin police say that the group (15 of them) had this somewhat planned in advance. There were six arrested, of which the police hint that three of them have some type of background or record....and that they lean a bit to the 'left'.
The curious thing is that the majority of the injured from the film crew were the security people hired to protect the film crew.
What'll happen? Probably an intense effort to get the people to point out the other participants....but that will go nowhere. ZDF? They might pick up the story and start asking stupid questions over the left-wing revolutionary types in Berlin, but I doubt that they really want to open that door.
More security in the future? It wouldn't surprise me if ZDF goes to hire seven to ten security folks.....if this is anywhere near a demonstration.

Anti-Coronavirus Demonstrations?
Yes, it kinda started in Germany in the past two weeks. Yesterday (Saturday)....in Stuttgart, they say around 5,000 people met and had a demonstration. The local police won't confirm the number. It was peaceful but has generated more enthusiasm.
Various groups are discussing more demonstrations over the next weekend....if bans aren't relaxed. It's not a right-wing or left-wing thing....it's gone across the entire spectrum.
There's supposed to be a high-level government meeting on the 6th, and a number of 'bans' are supposed to be lifted (bars, restaurants, etc).
There's talk coming up that the meeting will clear up the path for hotel operations to get funding and a date to re-open.
Its safe to say that the general public (probably up in the 60 to 70 percent range) has reached their max acceptance of the bans, and they have to go.
Soccer, pools, vacations, and fests are in the mix....the public wants a return to reality.
Barbershops and hair-dressers open tomorrow? There's a boom period going on for the next week or two.....as people get a chance to return to some normal habits.

Why Eastern Germany Didn't Have the 'Big' Numbers on the Virus
This new theory has been put forward on the numbers difference.
For those who haven't tracked things in Germany....among the sixteen states....three states went into turbo-action back in February, and the massive number of infections and deaths lead back to those three. Somewhere in the middle are six states (Hessen is one, my state), and there's six states (most all in the eastern region, plus the Saarland (the smaller of the German states in the far west)), which have almost no big numbers on infection or death from the virus.
So this has been reviewed by a number of doctors and PhD type people, and this crazy theory is being discussed.
These six have one unique feature.....hen it comes to ultra rich people....they (the states) are near the bottom of the 'pit'. I'm talking about Germans who own million-Euro homes, drive 100,000 Euro sports cars, or travel to exotic ski-lodges in Austria where a nightly stay is 750 Euro.
It's believed that from the three states with the high infection rate and death rate.....the ultra rich went off to Milan (where the infections started in Italy), and later to the ski-resorts in Austria....then returned to their home regions in Germany (Bavaria, NRW, and Baden-Wurttemberg)....bringing infections at a significant number. In effect, they pushed the infection rate to double or triple what it should have been.
All of this would lead an economics expert to examine the levels of German wealth and assign differing levels....maybe even to seven or eight levels (ultra poor to ultra rich). Because of travel obligations or status-trips.....the movement of the ultra-rich made this virus a bigger problem than you'd imagine.
Same problem in the US? Well....it makes you wonder why NY City had a big deal, but states like Alabama or Oregon didn't.
Here's the bigger issue.....can you even go in front of people and suggest this pattern, and admit that this occurred in the fashion described?

Germany and Nuke 'Chatter'
N-TV carried a short piece this morning and talked over this one subject....the SPD Party having a position drawn to establish Germany as a no-nukes country. The meaning of this?
There's a fighter purchase plan being thrown around....to get US-made fighters. So the chatter is that you would need them....if you had tactical nukes around. So the SPD 'chatter' is that they want a new policy....no nukes on German soil.
Agreeable within the coalition? No. The CDU/CSU has said this won't work with them, and the FDP has suggested the same thing. Also, it's not one-hundred percent within the SPD on folks agreeing with this. No one says the SPD numbers but you get the impression that ten to twenty percent of them aren't that happy with the whole talk.
So you step back and look at the landscape.
Why the deal for US fighters (the F-18)? Why not go to Airbus and procure more of the Euro-fighters that they manufacture? Well....the next model that Airbus is talking about....isn't arriving until 2035 at the earliest. The F-18 models could start flowing in the next two years.
The no-nukes strategy? Around thirty years ago, this was the chief strategy of the Green Party. If you walked around and tried to gauge interest....with the bulk of society, it doesn't rate in the top 100 problems. But if you were a fairly liberal voter who stood mostly with the Green Party, it's the SPD desire to get them to return to the SPD.
Finally, lets get humble here and talk about any real threat to German society. The people you buy the bulk of your natural gas for winter heating....the Russians. Do you really think that they want any threat dissolving their profit situation?
Some folks might try to make this a big public forum subject, but I would imagine the vast majority of Germans would flip the channel over to some turtle documentary, travel show over Greek islands, or a reality show with German transsexuals dating regular Austrian transvestites.
