Observations

 1.  Cops in Berlin this AM now say that one out of five folks arrested on Silvester night (Dec 31st) for violent use of fireworks....was under the age of 18.  Meaning they were juveniles and will be treated that way in court.  The odds of a conviction of any sort?  About zero.

2.  I noticed a bit of hype over the cost of security now....for carnival parades, and the amount of security required.  If you go back to the 1980s...any town or village could easily conduct a carnival parade without security.  Today?  Just about impossible, and by the time you pay for the regular cops and extra private security....it's a fair chunk of money.

3.  Down in Baden-Wurttemberg (the state), the FDP Party held a local party meeting, and an unusual topic came up....allowing topless ladies at public pools.  The older members of the party apparently stepped up and just said 'no' for this topic to advance to the next level.

If you ask me....on the list of 10,000 significant things to legislate upon....this idea doesn't make it.

4.  Mercedes announced an agenda.....10,000 E-car charging stations across Germany, paid and sponsored by them.

5.  The postal union in Germany is asking for a 15-percent pay-raise....topic started today.  Odds of strikes in the next couple of months?  Probably a 100-percent chance.

This may be the point where Saturday service is dumped.  Personally, I wouldn't have a problem in both Friday and Saturday service dumped.
