2 Jan 2024: Four German News Stories

 1.   FDP Party completing membership poll question....if they should stay in the coalition.  End result?  Slightly more folks said 'stay' rather than 'go'.  Coalition likely continues on till fall of 2025.

2.  CSU Party over the weekend....positioned itself...on the topic of welfare folks refusing work offers and trying to continue staying on welfare.  CSU has said it wants a fundamental change....your welfare would permanently end in some way, if you refused to work.

Around working-class Germans.....probably three-quarters of them want some type of position like this in effect.

3.  Next EU 'fix-it campaign'?  Well...they say over 400,000 women in Germany work as hookers, and the EU wants to fix this by preventing exploitation.

So the EU says a ban on the purchase of sex is likely to come.

I reviewed the story.  Hookers are a legal thing in Germany (taxed/regulated).  If the EU banned the practice....everything would then go to  the underground or black-market.

Odds of this getting any traction?  I'm of the mind the EU will attempt to push on the issue, and we see some 10-year era where it's all illegal and 'ended', with 400k hookers still existing.

4.  More rain?  Yeah, more flooding occurring as well.   Next five days....looks like more rain nationally.
