This week...out of Düsseldorf (NW Germany)....a public 'case' was brewing.
A number of weeks ago...local city policeman decided that he'd use the rule changes and convert to a policewoman.
The gov't had rule changes in 2025, and you can change your gender without much effort (or surgery). You can even change your name (once a year) to reflect your sex change.
So this guy changed his gender.
However...'she' then woke up to realize that her superiors didn't really buy into this and felt that this was a 'act'....solely for career advancement.
I won't dwell on this angle of the story. There probably several ways in which she'll advance at a faster pace...over the old path.
So the superiors accused him of doing this solely for career reasons, and went the next step up. Local public prosecutor's office? They did a brief review and said....NO, this is not a criminal offense...'cut the crap, and move on'.
The end of the story? I kinda doubt it. If it is a pathway to faster promotion....there's likely a dozen-odd folks looking at the transformation required (no surgery), and maybe it makes sense.
