Within the Islamic religion....waswasa is an Islamic theological term that means the subtle “whispers” or intrusive suggestions planted in a person’s heart or mind by Shaytan (Satan/the devil himself).
Oddly....it describes Satan’s attempts to introduce doubts, temptations, baseless worries, or distracting thoughts in order to weaken faith, disrupt worship, or lead someone toward sin.
So if you were in some treatment program for deradicalization....you probably have a defensive mechanism in your mind...thinking the clinic-help folks....are planting doubts in your mind or trying to distract you.
This Berlin Abdul guy facing this reality? I think from day one of the deradicalization program....he had a frame of mind to 'protect' himself from change. If so......then the whole concept of the program...is wasted effort.
