Back around summer of last year, various brewery operations in Germany started to warn about production levels and cancellations of fests. What they said then....if things didn't return to a 'norm'....they'd be stuck holding expired beer.
Well....BR (public TV for Bavaria) came to report this week....the dumping of beer has started.
For months, companies have been holding beer kegs and hoping for a return to normal drinking (pubs up and beer gardens operating). Well....it didn't happen.
More to come? Probably. Some brewery operations were marginally surviving prior to this, and this 'dry' spell will bankrupt those folks.
Pretty sad day....tons of beer poured down the drain.
