For those who haven't heard of them.....the big event company to arrange concerts in Germany is Eventim. If you are going to stage twenty shows in the country.....Eventim is usually there to sell the tickets and arrange the scanning at the doorways.
In the last day or two....Eventim has said that they are planning on a summer business cycle (it might be mid-summer....it might be late-summer).
The general word is that various venues are expecting to open once the 'herd' (the majority of Germans) are vaccinated.
So as part of the ticket sales deal....to let you into the arena or building....Eventim is toying with the idea that they'd mandate you show them your shot paperwork/record as they scan your ticket. That means that only vaccinated people will be in the building.
This being acceptable to people? Well....discussions have started up since this idea got put into the public forums.
You won't get a good idea on who got vaccinated until we probably get to August/September. If you were asking me on humble feelings....I'd put it near 85-percent of people who get vaccinated in the country. I'd even go and suggest that it'll be higher in the western part of the country, than the eastern part of the country (wouldn't shock me if Saxony barely reaches 60-percent).
This attitude of mandating proof of the shot for entry? For some venue operations, this might not work, and the band or singer might be shocked that they only sold 70-percent of the seats.
The fact that vaccinated people can still be carriers of Covid-19? Well, it's best not to bring up this fact with people who are hyped-up and thrilled about the vaccine business.
My humble guess is that it's going to be long and rough road for German bands/singers to get any business going in 2021, 2022, or 2023. Add to it....the counterfeit folks will probably do some active business in fake shot-records.
